On June 24, 2024, Ben Shenglin, President of Beijing Frontier Institute of Regulation and Supervision Technology (FIRST), was invited to attend the Forum on Economic and Fiscal Policy (FEFP) Global Forum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. With the theme of “A Climate-Ready Global Financial Architecture”, FEFP brought together global experts, scholars and industry leaders to discuss global financial solutions to the challenges posed by climate change.
At the event, President Ben Shenglin delivered a keynote speech titled “The Role of Finance in Sustainable Development—The Perspective of The Global South”, offering profound insights into the main challenges facing the international community at present and the current international financial pattern. He summarized the development history and status quo of the Global South represented by BRICS countries, highlighted the Chinese case study on finance as a driving force for sustainable development—the development trend of green finance and digital finance, and shared his distinctive perspectives regarding China’s financial system.
